The MCOFU consists of an Executive Board, comprised of seven individuals each elected for three year terms. These officers are
responsible the day to day operations of the union. Each institution or facility has a Chief Steward, and Assistant Chief
Steward and shop Stewards. These positions are elected by the institutional membership and serve a two-year term and they
report directly to the Executive Board.
The governing body of the Union, when in session, is the Executive Assembly, which is comprised of the Executive Board and the
Chief Stewards or their recognized designees. They make up the voting body of the Assembly. Each institution has a Chief Steward
who is a voting member, and, additionally, there are there are four statewide Chief Stewards representing the disciplines of
Industrial Instructors, Maintenance Personnel, Correction Officers Cooks, and Recreation Officers.

The Executive Assembly meetings are open to all Stewards; however they are not open to the general membership. The membership
participates through its Stewards, and regular sector meetings are held at the local institutions. The Assembly addresses issues
of statewide impact and directs the Executive Board. Operational decisions are handled by the E-Board exclusively.
